Ensure the USDOT Meets the Congressional Deadline for an Impaired Driving Prevention Tech Safety Standard

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) needs your help to ensure the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) meets the Congressional deadline for a final impaired driving prevention technology standard to save lives and prevent injuries.

TRAGEDY: Someone dies in a drunk driving crash every 45 minutes in the U.S., and someone is injured every 2 minutes.

SOLUTION: The USDOT must set a final standard for impaired driving prevention technology by November 15, 2024.

WHY: That is the deadline Congress set when it passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in November 2021. The law gave USDOT three years to complete its rulemaking process.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: Use the form below to urge your U.S. Senators and Representative to ensure USDOT meets the November 15, 2024 deadline.
